That curiosity led me to pet nutrition, and I quickly noticed just how far commercial pet food has drifted from what our animals truly need. Some commercial dog treats contain as little as 4.6% crude protein.....
Going down the rabbit hole I discovered that major pet food brands like Pedigree, Whiskas, Royal Canin, and Iams are owned by Mars (yes, the chocolate bar), and Hill’s Science Diet is owned by Colgate-Palmolive (yes, the dish soap). That’s when I got passionate. Convenience and profit too often come before real nutrition, and that is exactly why Treatos Box had to happen.
Bucko (4 y.o. Chesapeake Bay Retriever) and Buzzy (3 y.o. Tabby Kauai Jungle Cat) are our whole-animal raw diet experts. They make up the Treatos Box quality control team, making sure every treat is packed with thoughtful, intentional nutrition.
